Anna Gams has defended her Ph.D. thesis!

Anna started her Ph.D. in the Efimov lab in the fall of 2017 after finishing her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Florida. Anna’s projects were motivated by understanding sex differences of the human heart be it through genomics or optical mapping. During her time in graduate school, Anna had internships at Boston Scientific and IBM Research. Anna’s accomplishments include Chateaubriand Fellowship and Simula Summer School Fellowship. Anna defended in October and is transitioning to become a post-doc at Northwestern University. Her thesis is titled: “The Role of Genome Regulatory Network in Sex Dimorphism of Cardiac Health, Disease, and Aging.”
