Micah Madrid successfully defended his dissertation on August 7th, 2024, titled "Advanced Multiparametric Cardiac Bio-interfaces: Ex Vivo and In Vivo Approaches," which explores developing and applying innovative bio-interfacing technologies for cardiac research. His dissertation focused on advancing the tools available for understanding and treating cardiac pathologies by introducing multiparametric bio-electronic devices that integrate electrophysiology with opto-physiology. The systems presented are explored in ex vivo and in vivo models, demonstrating their potential and strategies for precise spatiotemporal control or cardiac physiological and pathophysiological mapping and monitoring.
