Micah Madrid successfully defended his PhD

Micah Madrid successfully defended his dissertation on August 7th, 2024, titled "Advanced Multiparametric Cardiac Bio-interfaces: Ex Vivo and In Vivo Approaches," which explores developing and applying innovative bio-interfacing technologies for cardiac research. His dissertation focused on advancing the tools available for understanding and treating cardiac pathologies by introducing multiparametric bio-electronic devices that integrate electrophysiology with opto-physiology. The systems presented are explored in ex vivo and in vivo models, demonstrating their potential and strategies for precise spatiotemporal control or cardiac physiological and pathophysiological mapping and monitoring. This paves the way for novel basic research applications and new therapeutic strategies, enhancing our understanding of cardiac physiology and pathophysiology.
