New paper published by Nature Cardiovascular Research

"In this publication, we developed an atlas of genome regulatory elements of the human heart. We applied Cap Analysis of Gene Expression (CAGE) technology to map promoters and enhancers that are responsible for gene transcription in the human heart. This approach enabled us to identify thousands of genes transcribed from alternative promoters or dependent on specific enhancers in healthy versus failing hearts, which resulted in different transcriptomes driving cardiac remodeling during heart failure from different aetiologies.

The figure illustrates promoters and enhancers of key genes discussed in the paper. Color-coded regions show regulation by alternative promoters across cardiac chambers and disease etiologies."
